Recommendations For A Successful Photo Session:

The following are some recommendations to help you be comfortable and
have a relaxing photo shoot. For a full description of each photo session,
please see the sessions & rates page.

For Pregnancy Portraits:

This is a time to relax and focus inward. It is best if you can schedule
your session on a day when you don’t have other appointments and we
can fully concentrate on you.
On the day of your session please don’t wear any elastic around your
body (no bras or underpants) so we don’t see marks on your skin (draw-
string pants with a loose top works well). Also, remove any non-essential
jewelry (i.e.watches) at least an hour before you arrive.
Eat a light snack before the session.
For location shoots be sure to pack enough food to last you 4 to 6 hours
(remember, pregnant mamas need their nourishment!)
I provide fabrics to drape you with, but bring any shawls, scarves, tops or
clothes in which you feel particularly beautiful.
If you are being photographed with your partner please have them bring
  black pants if possible.
If you have a music cd or tape that you love or relaxes you, feel free to bring
it along.

For clients coming in from out of town:

If your schedule will allow it, please fly in a few days before your session so that you can be fully
rested and relaxed. You might want to make a mini vacation out of your trip and enjoy being close to the beach! If you would like a full list of hotels near my studio or need help with accommodations please contact me. Most of my clients have no problems traveling during their pregnancies, but please get your doctor’s permission to be sure, especially if you are in your third trimester.

For Baby | Family Portraits

The most important thing about clothing is to keep it simple. Busy
clothes detract from your face (and it’s your or your babies’ beautiful
faces that we want to see!). Solids work best, with no words or
pictures on the front. Denim also photographs well in black and white.
Schedule your session at a time when your children are most likely to
be rested and fed and bring snacks in case they get hungry.
Feel free to bring any of your baby’s favorite toys, animals and music,
or anything that will help him/her feel at home.
If your child is sick please don’t bring him/her to the session. It’s no
fun for them and you won’t get the kind of images you would like. If
your child becomes sick the night before or the morning of your
session, please call me to reschedule. If you call ahead of time I will
be happy to apply your deposit to another session.
If you need any advice on preparing for your session please feel free
  to contact me
